Hello, my name is Kate Lucy, and I work as a counsellor, coach and facilitator.
I run a private practice, and offer staff support to socially trading organisations.
You can get in touch about working together here.
Supporting you
You may have accessed therapeutic support before, or maybe this is your first time.
Either way, it’s important that you find the right person for you. Different therapists offer different styles and approaches so it’s useful to have an initial, no obligation conversation with a few potential therapists before you commit.
That way, you can be confident that the person you choose has the appropriate skills and that you feel comfortable working together.
If you’d like to arrange an exploratory conversation please get in touch directly via this web-site, or by email: hello@katelucyworks.com
About me
I’m qualified as a therapeutic counsellor and am a trained coach and facilitator. I’ve been fortunate to work in a wide range of roles, organisations and systems, as well as in private practice, and now have clients across the UK and internationally.
The golden threads which run through my career and style are:
being inclusive, person centred and value based
finding practical ways to improve health and well being
working for positive change
partnering with like minded folk
learning and adapting along the way
Background & training
Prior to focusing exclusively on counselling, coaching and facilitation I worked in leadership and change management roles across the third sector and the NHS.
I’m trained as an individual and team coach and registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Supporting your organisation
I support organisations in 2 ways, either by providing 1-1 flexible counselling and coaching support to staff,’, or by facilitating groups or teams.
Lots of small and medium size companies recognise the need for staff support but aren’t able to provide it in house.
That’s where I come in. After working with you to assess your needs, I put together a bespoke counselling or coaching service. Staff access the service in an agreed way and I provide an a specific number of sessions.
Your organisation benefits from access to an experienced, highly regarded provider and you only pay for booked sessions, so its a cost-effective way of providing a desirable staff benefit.
How I work
I’m based in north Liverpool in the Northwest of England and work on line and in person.
A number of my clients come from creative or clinical backgrounds, reflecting my interests and experience.
All are welcome, and all valued equally.
As an integrative therapist I’m trained in a range of techniques and adapt to individual needs. If I don’t think I have the necessary skills to support you I will do my best to signpost you to appropriate support.
Most years, as well as seeing private clients and providing support, to staff groups, I undertake bespoke pieces of development work with organisations, some of whom are acknowledged below.
What People Are Saying
“Kate is a hugely people-focused and experienced leader in many different spaces. Critically, she is able to support individuals to do their best work and finds talent where they may have thought none existed.”
— Dr Mary Ryan, Medical Director PC4, Consultant Paediatrician Alder Hey Children’s Hospital
“Things I really appreciate about Kate are how she builds trust and her thoughtful questioning style, frequently enabling deep insights for me regarding my practice. Kate is both a psychotherapist and a coach and is clear about the focus and boundaries of each.”
— Dr Abi Masterson, Master Coach
“I was struggling to cope with the everyday demands of life after the pandemic and had little confidence in what I was doing. Kate helped me to unpick and understand the reality of my situation, providing the space and structure for me to think and reflect, and to become proactive in managing my mental health.”
